RUSH Specialty Hospital Nearing Completion
November, 2023 – RUSH Specialty Hospital, a joint venture between Select Medical and Rush University System for Health, is nearing completion. The 100-bed facility will be a combined critical illness recovery and inpatient rehabilitation hospital on the RUSH University Medical Center campus. The hospital is slated to open in 2024 and will feature 44 critical illness recovery and 56 inpatient rehabilitation beds. The 93-foot tall building will span approximately 135,000 square feet. The project broke ground in May, 2022.
Cyclone Energy Group has been instrumental in designing and coordinating functional tests to ensure the hospital support systems are functioning correctly and respond to emergency conditions once operational. Cyclone is overseeing the final phases of completion including Owner Acceptance Testing.
In addition to energy modeling and commissioning service that Cyclone Energy Group has provided to the project, our team in partnership with FitzGerald Associates Architects has lead the process of earning Green Globes Certification from the Green Buildings Initiative. The project is tracking Two Green Globes.
