Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) moved their corporate headquarters from a nearby office building to the former Brunswick Corporation building at 1 North Field Court in Lake Forest, Illinois in 2019. The building was gutted and rehabbed with modern furnishings and a data center. In the rehab project, many of the existing HVAC systems were replaced with new equipment. PCA had specific requirements for performance of the mission critical data systems and Cyclone designed, coordinated and tested the system to demonstrate to the owner the emergency power system had the capability and performance to respond to a complete power outage. This included an integrated systems test (often referred to as a “black-out test”) which required Cyclone to schedule and coordinate multiple contractors for demonstration testing. Cyclone provided additional support to the project by commissioning all of the building HVAC, lighting and plumbing systems.
